Garden party raises more than £1300 for Gully's Place
Taking advantage of the recent glorious summer weather, Alan & Thomas Insurance Group recently held a charity garden party for family and friends, which raised more than £1300 for Gully's Place Trust Fund, their charity of the year.
The afternoon event was held at the home of Alan & Thomas claims team leader and chief charity co-ordinator Karina Nethersole.
Karina, along with her husband Andrew, organised the afternoon, which featured a tombola and games, drinks, homemade cakes and pastries and a selection of handmade gifts to buy. The total raised on the day was over £650, which was then matched by the directors of Alan & Thomas.
The party was one of a number of events that the Poole-based insurance specialists have planned for 2014 in order to raise money for Gully's Place - a Poole Hospital registered charity which supports the four hundred infants, children and young people throughout Dorset who have a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
As well as a physical Gully's Place Suite, a one bedroom private suite for patients and their families located on the children's unit at Poole Hospital, the fund comprises of parents' support groups, as well as the provision of education and learning materials for staff and families.
The next charity event to raise even more for Gully's will be the annual Alan & Thomas quiz night, which will take place in October.
