Off to a flying start
Alan & Thomas Insurance Group has announced the recent acquisition of Emery Little Insurance Brokers – a specialist aviation, SME and personal insurance broker based in Salisbury and Eastbourne.
Bucking the difficult economic climate, this latest buy out is one of three in as many years for the Poole-based insurance group - the largest independent general insurance broker in the region – and promises not to be the last.
Alan & Thomas Managing Director, Julian Boughton, said of the deal "We are delighted to have acquired the goodwill and assets of Emery Little who have been operating since 1971. We will be working with former owner Nik Little and his team over the coming months and beyond to provide a seamless transition for clients".
As part of the deal, Alan & Thomas will add eight new staff members to their current tally who will remain at the Salisbury and Eastbourne offices and will be fully integrated into the company via induction workshops to introduce the company culture, values and vision.
As well as inheriting a substantial book of aviation clients, the buy-out will also see Alan & Thomas adding a number of commercial and personal insurance clients to their client base.
"This news is a great way to end the first quarter of 2012. The added expertise that the acquisition gives us in aviation insurance fits perfectly not only with our strategy to create specialist divisions within our business but also compliments our high net worth personal insurance offering. This is a further step forward in the achievement of our growth target for 2012 and we are looking forward to working with Nik and his team to develop the business" concluded Julian.
Alan & Thomas are a leading insurance broker in the UK and one of only ninety three brokers nationwide to have been awarded the prestigious Chartered Insurance Broker title by the Chartered Insurance Institute. They form part of 'Brokerbility' - a select group of thirty four independent insurance brokers in the UK who have joined forces to share best practice within the industry and who control over £465 million in insurance premiums between them. With headquarters in Poole, Dorset and two further offices in Gillingham (Dorset) and Frome, Somerset, the company now has fifty eight staff members.
